[[Today is a fairly pleasant day in Violet City, so Page has taken advantage of the good weather to head outside and train her Pokemon a little. She's found, however, that over the past few weeks she's developed a few questions that she can't seem to find good answers for, so she's decided to....well, ask the 'feed', as it were. It took her a little while to work up the courage and to remind herself that she's not a wanted criminal here, but even so, it's....well. Slightly uncomfortable, but if this is how people communicate in this place, she'd better get used to it.

She's standing in an area on the outskirts of the city, the rustic buildings of Violet City in the background. The camera is surprisingly steady, obviously being held by one of her larger Pokemon.]]

I was wondering if any of you would be able to help me with my query.

[[When she speaks, her eyes find the camera, but once she's finished she immediately looks to the side, obviously not that comfortable with the whole experience. She's used to giving speeches; rather good speeches! But she's also used to have a tangible audience, so the fact that all she has to focus on is...well, her Gear, is bemusing her somewhat. But she'll get used to it. She's gotten used to worse.]]

Do any of you have experience with raising one of these?

[[Almost on cue, an Eevee scampers up her body and sits on her shoulder, staring into the camera with serious eyes matching those of his trainer.]]

I've done a bit of research and found that he can evolve into one of seven different things; which did you choose? What was the reason? Was it worth it, or do you regret your choice? I've heard evolution is irreversible, so I want to make sure my decision is the right one.

[[Another slightly awkward look to the side, before she faces the camera once more and nods her head slightly.]]

Well, Souji-kun recommmended I evolve my Eevee into an Umbreon, since I used to travel primarily at night and having another set of eyes aside from Mina-kun's would be helpful... I guess she liked the idea of being the same type has her bo--

Sorry, he's still really shy about it-- [HE IS NOT SHY GET THAT OUT OF YOUR HEAD YOU BASTARD] Anyway, Umbreon fits nicely with the rest of my Pokémon, I guess, since they're mostly ghost- and dark-types.

[[At the sound of all this Umbreon talk, Edgar the Eevee squirms closer to the camera and nudges his trainer; apparently, he approves.]]

I'm getting the distinct feeling that Edgar is leaning towards Umbreon; what can you tell me about Dark-types? They seem to be a rather enigmatic lot.

A lot of them have a bad reputation... Like Absols [motioning to the one in his lap] are said to bring disaster wherever they go. I've been traveling with Mina-kun here for a while, but we've never had anything bad happen. Murkrows are said to bring bad luck to anyone who sees them, but I've had a lot of good luck while I've been here. I don't think Umbreon has any bad superstitions about it, but that's probably because it evolves from such a cute Pokémon.

You mean they get that sort of reputation from birth, without even having done anything?

How cruel! Your Pokemon look very sweet!

They are, which is why it's really sad to see people dislike them without getting to know them. But the people who aren't locals to Johto - like you and me - they're not afraid, so it's okay.

It shouldn't just be outsiders who accept them, though; I didn't realise people here had such a prejudice against certain Pokemon.

Although I suppose, if it means they're left alone...I would think the Pokemon don't mind much; wild ones, anyway.

Yeah. It must be a relief to find people who aren't afraid of them, still. They're usually pretty strong, so I wouldn't be surprised if other Pokémon were afraid of them too.

But it's good to know there are trainers out there who don't play in to that silly prejudice. It's making me want to go out and catch some Dark-types.

I'd recommend it. They're very useful for traveling at night, if you want to avoid most wild Pokémon and trainers. [Like him!!
