[[Today is a fairly pleasant day in Violet City, so Page has taken advantage of the good weather to head outside and train her Pokemon a little. She's found, however, that over the past few weeks she's developed a few questions that she can't seem to find good answers for, so she's decided to....well, ask the 'feed', as it were. It took her a little while to work up the courage and to remind herself that she's not a wanted criminal here, but even so, it's....well. Slightly uncomfortable, but if this is how people communicate in this place, she'd better get used to it.

She's standing in an area on the outskirts of the city, the rustic buildings of Violet City in the background. The camera is surprisingly steady, obviously being held by one of her larger Pokemon.]]

I was wondering if any of you would be able to help me with my query.

[[When she speaks, her eyes find the camera, but once she's finished she immediately looks to the side, obviously not that comfortable with the whole experience. She's used to giving speeches; rather good speeches! But she's also used to have a tangible audience, so the fact that all she has to focus on is...well, her Gear, is bemusing her somewhat. But she'll get used to it. She's gotten used to worse.]]

Do any of you have experience with raising one of these?

[[Almost on cue, an Eevee scampers up her body and sits on her shoulder, staring into the camera with serious eyes matching those of his trainer.]]

I've done a bit of research and found that he can evolve into one of seven different things; which did you choose? What was the reason? Was it worth it, or do you regret your choice? I've heard evolution is irreversible, so I want to make sure my decision is the right one.

[[Another slightly awkward look to the side, before she faces the camera once more and nods her head slightly.]]

Honestly, if it were me, I'd go with whatever yours wants to evolve into. I mean, Jiji just evolved by himself one night, and Sion let Jina pick out the stone he wanted, and both of them ended up happy. I'll probably bring Jiru by the display some time and let her pick, when she's a bit older...

["Vee?" And here's a baby Eevee jumping up onto Ryner's lap, because gosh, she heard her name, that means she's being talked about.]

Since it is permanent, I think it would be best to make sure they're happy with it, you know?

No, I think you're right; I wouldn't want to force Edgar into a form he's not happy with.

[[Really, it's quite a disturbing thought.]]

Did your Eevee struggle with the decision?

[He'll just pet Jiru while he talks.]

Jiji? Pretty sure he knew exactly what he was doing. Then again, Umbreon's one of the two that doesn't need a stone.

[[At the mention of Umbreon, Edgar's ears perk up and he nudges his trainer, much to her amusement.]]

You've certainly got Edgar's attention; what can you tell me about Umbreon? I think that's the way he's leaning, and I'd like to hear from someone who has actually got experience with using one.

Well, ah... he's a dark type, obviously. Most of his attacks are physical, but he's also got some status ones in there, Mean Look, Confuse Ray, stuff like that. And Moonlight, too, which is always helpful. He's got high defenses, too. I mean, he's not as hard as a rock or anything, but he can take hits.

...And he likes picking fights, but he's always been that way since the day he hatched, so I think that's just him.

You make a convincing argument.

[[It's definitely something to ponder, anyway. Let her look down for a minute and think.]]

I've read that Dark-types are weak to...Fighting-types, is it? Is there anything else?

Fighting and Bug, yeah. On the other hand, they resist Dark and Ghost, and are immune to Psychic.

Immune to Psychic....

[[Hm.]]

Does that mean that Psychic powers don't work on them full-stop? That's to say, a Psychic Pokemon couldn't read their mind?

I assume so. I mean, I've never asked or had anything happen where I'd find out either way, but...

[[Let her purse her lips a bit. That's disappointing.]]

I see. Well, regardless, I appreciate the information. There's only so much you can learn from books.

[[Granted, it is quite a lot.]]

I'm sensing there's quite a lot to figure out, so information sharing is quite a good thing to engage in. I'm trying my best to do so, anyway.

I guess you haven't been around too long yet?

Not really; only two months so far.

Even so, I still feel like I know nothing, even with study. This world is surprisingly complex.

There really is a lot to learn, yeah. I've been here almost two years, and still keep finding things I didn't know. But, well, you do get the hang of most of it eventually...
