2ND REVOLUTION - [VIDEO/ACTION FOR VIOLET CITY]
[[Today is a fairly pleasant day in Violet City, so Page has taken advantage of the good weather to head outside and train her Pokemon a little. She's found, however, that over the past few weeks she's developed a few questions that she can't seem to find good answers for, so she's decided to....well, ask the 'feed', as it were. It took her a little while to work up the courage and to remind herself that she's not a wanted criminal here, but even so, it's....well. Slightly uncomfortable, but if this is how people communicate in this place, she'd better get used to it.
She's standing in an area on the outskirts of the city, the rustic buildings of Violet City in the background. The camera is surprisingly steady, obviously being held by one of her larger Pokemon.]]
I was wondering if any of you would be able to help me with my query.
[[When she speaks, her eyes find the camera, but once she's finished she immediately looks to the side, obviously not that comfortable with the whole experience. She's used to giving speeches; rather good speeches! But she's also used to have a tangible audience, so the fact that all she has to focus on is...well, her Gear, is bemusing her somewhat. But she'll get used to it. She's gotten used to worse.]]
Do any of you have experience with raising one of these?

[[Almost on cue, an Eevee scampers up her body and sits on her shoulder, staring into the camera with serious eyes matching those of his trainer.]]
I've done a bit of research and found that he can evolve into one of seven different things; which did you choose? What was the reason? Was it worth it, or do you regret your choice? I've heard evolution is irreversible, so I want to make sure my decision is the right one.
[[Another slightly awkward look to the side, before she faces the camera once more and nods her head slightly.]]
I appreciate your time. Thank you.
[[With a look to the Pokemon holding the camera, the feed is cut.]]

Say hello to the guy with eleven Eeveelutions, all of whom are currently swarming around him where he sits on his very nice couch. Between two Umbreons, two Espeons, two Flareons, and one each of all the others including Eevee itself, it's practically a circus of relevant to your interests up in here.]
You might say I have some experience with them, yes. Though not entirely by choice.
[SO DRY.]
That said, I'd be happy to try to answer any questions you might have, based on my...ah, familiarity with them.
...you appear to be just the sort of person I'm looking for, yes.
[[no really
those Eeveelutions]]
Well, I suppose I should start with asking if you have a favourite. They all seem incredibly different.
And by "his works", I mean...he only ever wanted the one and then the rest just kind of happened, whoops.]
Then I'm pleased to be of some service to you.
[Hang on, he's just going to shove down a curious Jolteon here—]
That one is — ah, just a moment, please. No, Loki, get down, and leave Napoleon — I'm sorry, please excuse me.
[PUTTING DOWN GEAR. SHOVING INCESSANTLY. When he returns, there's an Espeon snuggled into his lap.]
I do apologize. As I was saying, this is Lady. She was my first, and remains by far my favorite.
At the sight of Lady, however, she immediately returns back to a more serious expression. The smile is lingering, however.]]
An Espeon, correct? The Psychic type. I've heard that Psychic Pokemon are quite fascinating.
[[...she might have been researching this
....a lot]]
What is it about her that makes her your favourite? Is it her strength, her abilities, or just her temperament? Do you find that certain personality types suit certain evolutions?
[[Apologies for all the questions, but she really is fascinated and you kind of seem like the Eeveelution master, there.]]
Lady, as per usual, wastes no time in sticking her face right up close to the camera; she's long since learned what it means when her trainer holds the gear up to use video in this manner, and it's her solemn duty to investigate whatever
hussyperson might be on the other end talking to her darling.]That's right. Of all of them, I've found her by far the most rewarding. Also the most difficult at times, but I was once told by a junior of mine that she seems to fit my personality like a glove, and I've considered her the most faithful of all my companions since my arrival here.
[Despite the fact that she's not his starter. Also taking into consideration the fact that if he doesn't praise her in sufficient quantities, she'll bite his hand in half. But he does love her, really.
Meanwhile, he's just going to pan the camera over the rest of the Eeveelutions while he elaborates.]
I'd originally intended for Lady to be a Jolteon as a better complement to my roster, but as I'm sure you know, Eevees evolve into Espeon as a matter of will, without the need for an evolutionary stone. So she rather circumvented my plans with her own, in that respect. These six are her progeny — that is, the Leafeon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Eevee, and the smaller of the two Flareons. For the ease of simplicity, I let them choose their own evolutions as well, and in that respect I do believe they chose based on their personalities, to some extent. The others I inherited; the larger of the Umbreons is Lady's mother, and the other three are surrogates of sorts. The Flareon was already evolved when I inherited him, but the last two were Eevees, and like Lady, they chose their evolutions — one into Espeon, like her, and the other into Umbreon, I presume to be a Dark type like her father.
...Page will just be sticking with her one, for now, however. That looks like quite the handful, admittedly an adorable one. Speaking of which, Edgar the Eevee will be staring into the camera himself, curious at the sight of all these potential evolutions. He's already selected which one he wants to be, but he's happy to let his trainer have a ponder. He knows she'll respect his wishes when it comes down to it, anyway.]]
So you've found it easier to just let them decide what they want to be? I think that would be the kindest thing to do.
[[Because really, being forced into a body you're not comfortable with...it's enough to make her shudder. How horrifying.]]
Have any of them ever been indecisive about what they want? It seems like such an intense decision to make.
As I recall, Napoleon — that is, the Vaporeon — was initially aiming for the stone that would turn him into a Leafeon. Mithras had other ideas. He also evidently inherited his mother's penchant for kicking the unruly ones in the head.
[What, did you think that the changeover was a peaceful process? Hell, no, that shit was a brawl.]
I found it simplest to present all the possible options to them at once and simply let them duke it out for which one they wanted. I certainly didn't want to end up with six Glaceons, so regulating the availability of evolutions seemed like the most prudent compromise between our mutual interests. And, of course, there was always the option to do as Leonidas did and simply not evolve, or to wait for another opportunity. Though he's seemed quite content to remain as an Eevee thus far.
[[This entire conversation is amusing her, Yagyuu; the bevy of fluffy cute things everywhere might be helping. Just a little.]]
Did you set out to obtain so many? I must say, you've got quite the collection. I'm struggling enough dealing with one.
[[Seriously, this stuff is actually kind of stressful! Although she does approve of the method you used; logical and practical. Page has always approved of logical, practical people.
If only she was surrounded by more of them....]]
[Classy guy covered in cute things. What's not to love.]
Not in the least. I only ever intended to have Lady. The rest came about through...ah, happenstance. And the fact that upon breeding, Lady turned out to be rather disinclined to permit me to give away her children, assuming I wanted to retain full use of my hands.
[She threatened his TENNIS HAND, man. His TENNIS HAND.]
[[At least now she's stopped trying to shove her trainer in her pouch every five minutes...]]
I'm constantly fascinated by how strong the personalities of Pokemon are; even though they can't speak to us, you can just...understand them, somewhat, and they're all unique.
[[...have another one of those smiles, okay.]]
I take it the same goes for your army of Eevee evolutions?
[So many smiles, Page-san...]
And yes, they're certainly all unique. I suppose it's fair to say their temperaments did shape their evolutions somewhat, but even dealing with all of them as Eevees, they were still very distinct individuals En masse one couldn't tell them apart, naturally, but separately, it was easier to guess. Much the same way that one might see the subtle differences in twins, I suppose.
Yes, Harper was my starter; she certainly ensured that my entrance into this world was....unique.
[[Since she's the one currently holding the camera, you can have her popping her head into the feed and waving, there.]]
Although I have to admit she's an excellent fighter. Terrifying at some points; you should've seen what she did to Falkner's Noctowl when it accidentally hit her baby.
[[It was rather wince-worthy, to the point where she felt compelled to apologize to the Gym Leader post-battle. Kangaskhans....]]
What you're saying makes a lot of sense, though; I've noticed that all of my Pokemon have very distinct personalities. Edgar is very serious and focused so....maybe the Dark type would fit him? We need to think about it a bit more.
[[Even though Edgar has already decided that yes, the Dark type would be lovely. At least his trainer worked it out...]]
...I'm very grateful for your assistance. It's been a big help.
[[oh this is where she's supposed to introduce herself
ugh casual conversations that don't involve revolutions or plotting the deaths of evil people, how does she do them]]
...I'm Page, by the way.
[Tl;dr: his girl's better. And so Lady preens.]
And Page-san, it's a pleasure to meet both you and Edgar. My name is Yagyuu Hiroshi; you've already met Lady, and I hope you'll spare me the necessity of introducing the other ten in their turn.
I understand what you're saying, but if you met Harper you'd be amazed that she's even capable of being violent; she keeps trying to mother me.
[[And it's really bloody annoying, but.....kinda nice? Sorta?]]
However, I will admit that Lady is rather adorable.
[[....more adorable than her Kangaskhan, anyway. But hers is totally still better.]]
It's nice to meet you, Yagyuu; don't worry, I'm not going to insist on any more names. I'm just glad I was able to speak to someone with your experience.
[Little does anyone realize that this is the real reason everyone thought Lady and Yagyuu were such a perfect match. Looks can be deceiving.
Meanwhile, though, Lady knows praise when she hears it, and basks accordingly — though still snuggled against Yagyuu, lest whoever this new person is somehow forget that he is CLAIMED, thank you, and she is not sharing.]
She and I are both flattered you find her so likeable, Page-san. And please, if there's any other way I can be of service to you concerning your Eevee, don't hesitate to ask. It's rewarding to know that my personal experiences with them haven't been entirely in vain, but rather are contributing meaningfully to assist someone else.
I think that might be best. I'm sensing that I wouldn't want to meet your Espeon on the battlefield.
[[She's half afraid the thing is going to leap at her through the Gear if she talks to Yagyuu any longer. God knows what would happen if they met face to face...]]
Thank you for that. I'm sensing that Edgar is on the cusp of making his decision, so chances are I might get in contact once he evolves. Not that I think I'll be able to tell you any more than you already know-
[[-Yagyuu, you are the Eeveelution master, it is you-]]
-but there could be some little thing worth sharing.
[[She says this now, but she's not realising that that means...contacting someone in a...sociable manner and not to share battle plans or intel, what is this
what is having a social life
....
what is having a life in general tbh]]
[...speaking of contacting someone in a sociable manner, he may or may not have just suggested a casual date-like rendezvous.
Gentleman style.
Yagyuu what are you even.
Get out of the house more often, jeez.]
