[[Today is a fairly pleasant day in Violet City, so Page has taken advantage of the good weather to head outside and train her Pokemon a little. She's found, however, that over the past few weeks she's developed a few questions that she can't seem to find good answers for, so she's decided to....well, ask the 'feed', as it were. It took her a little while to work up the courage and to remind herself that she's not a wanted criminal here, but even so, it's....well. Slightly uncomfortable, but if this is how people communicate in this place, she'd better get used to it.

She's standing in an area on the outskirts of the city, the rustic buildings of Violet City in the background. The camera is surprisingly steady, obviously being held by one of her larger Pokemon.]]

I was wondering if any of you would be able to help me with my query.

[[When she speaks, her eyes find the camera, but once she's finished she immediately looks to the side, obviously not that comfortable with the whole experience. She's used to giving speeches; rather good speeches! But she's also used to have a tangible audience, so the fact that all she has to focus on is...well, her Gear, is bemusing her somewhat. But she'll get used to it. She's gotten used to worse.]]

Do any of you have experience with raising one of these?



[[Almost on cue, an Eevee scampers up her body and sits on her shoulder, staring into the camera with serious eyes matching those of his trainer.]]

I've done a bit of research and found that he can evolve into one of seven different things; which did you choose? What was the reason? Was it worth it, or do you regret your choice? I've heard evolution is irreversible, so I want to make sure my decision is the right one.

[[Another slightly awkward look to the side, before she faces the camera once more and nods her head slightly.]]

Yeah. It must be a relief to find people who aren't afraid of them, still. They're usually pretty strong, so I wouldn't be surprised if other Pokémon were afraid of them too.

This is one of them! It's Abel, Maria got him as a baby, but he's still not growing a whole lot.

Being a soldier doesn't instantly define their whole personality. [He knows this from experience.]

There's always something else behind it. If you say soldier, then he may be physically powerful. If he's more offensive, then perhaps becoming a Flareon would suit him. If he's more defensive, then Leafeon. If he can withstand a lot of attacks, then perhaps Vaporeon.

Sounds like an Umbreon to me.

And if that's what you're aiming for, I'd just focus on training at night and keeping him in a good mood. Do that, and I think you'll do fine.

Perhaps. But I'm used to having soldiers make life difficult, so it's nice to have one on my side, for once. Even if he is a bit shorter than what I'm used to.

He can take a fair few hits, but I've seen him dish it out a bit, too. I suppose I won't realise what's perfect for him until it's too late.

There really is a lot to learn, yeah. I've been here almost two years, and still keep finding things I didn't know. But, well, you do get the hang of most of it eventually...

I'd recommend it. They're very useful for traveling at night, if you want to avoid most wild Pokémon and trainers. [Like him!!

There are evolutionary items in Goldenrod's Department Store. Several of them are for Eevees. Like I said, you can let him choose among them. Or you can let him do as he likes-- one day you might wake up to a surprise he's got for you.

Maria's so glad, uu-! [ and she seems to mean it, considering how enthusiastic she is - just like she just got candy or something.. ] Another friend, Maria's circle of friends in Johto is growing for sure!
