1ST REVOLUTION - [VIDEO/ACTION FOR NEW BARK TOWN]
[[Good morning, Route! If you're lucky enough to be keeping an eye on the feed today, you're in for a bit of a treat, courtesy of one of Johto's newest arrivals.
The image is slanted, as if the 'Gear has fallen on the ground at an odd angle. However, the picture is quite comprehensible and clear, showing a grassy area outside New Bark Town. In the picture are an oddly-dressed woman and a rather large Kangaskhan. One of these two is ridiculously excited and bouncing for joy, while the other is crouching down, wielding a stick and looking incredibly unamused and mildly disturbed.
It doesn't take the IQ of an Alakazam to work out who is who; as the Kangaskhan gleefully surges towards her, the girl leaps to the side, lithely rolling and landing back on her feet, supporting herself on one arm. She doesn't take her eyes off the Pokemon in front of her, occasionally reaching towards a holster on her belt, wincing with frustration every time she finds it to be empty.
The Kangaskhan releases another happy cry, before promptly having another shot at catching the girl with the stick. Unfortunately for the latter, this charge is about twice the speed of the others, and with a very undignified shriek she's caught, the Pokemon bouncing happily!]]
Let me go!
[[The stick lost, the girl can only push against the Kangaskhan's massive arms currently holding her pressed against its body, kicking out angrily as she tries to come to terms with just what has happened here. The thrashing continues for a little while longer, until the girl is unceremoniously dumped into the Pokemon's pouch, legs dangling out of it, while the Pokemon bounces over to the 'Gear and looks down at it happily.
And to top it off, the baby gives the girl a happy lick right up her cheek.
Any advice would be appreciated. Very, very appreciated.]]

Calm down. It's not going to hurt you.
[[After another minute of trying to fight her way free of the Kangaskhan's grasp (and failing miserably in the attempt), Page slumps, breathing heavily. Her Pokemon is still beaming, of course, and hops closer to the Gear so Lightning will have a better view.]]
Do you know what it actually wants? Is it food? I can afford to spare some if it means this thing will leave me alone.
Hard to say for sure, but it probably wants to play. It's not going to leave you alone, either, so don't bother trying to get rid of it any other way. It's yours now.
[[With one last shove, Page manages to free herself of the pouch, landing on the ground with a thud. Her Pokemon promptly picks her up by the shoulders and places her on her feet, happily brushing the dust off her clothes while Page tries to swat her away.
Clearly this is the best way for her to bond with her new trainer! :3]]
On that note, I don't suppose you could tell me the quickest route to get there? That.....woman in the house was useless, and I've got a lot of work to do.
Also, have a headshake. She hasn't been all over this place, sure, but that name's not on any map. Could be around, but probably isn't.]
There's no fast route between worlds. You're stuck here, same as the rest of us.
[[Releasing a cry of frustration, Page angrily kicks at the grass, hands curling into fists.]]
Then I'll just have to find a way! Surely there must be something? What about my gun; could I at least get that back?
[Weeks, months, years...hard to say that, too. As for the rest...]
And you can't get the gun back, either. Weapons aren't allowed here.
[[Because really, this is sounding like an absolute nightmare.]]
Not until you can reach another city and sleep in an Inn. The closest one is a three day walk from where you are now.
[[Sighing, Page turns to have a proper look at the Pokemon that's been harassing her ever since she arrived. It bounces happily. Her mouth twitches.]]
I suppose it's....kind of cute. In a frustrating sort of way. So what am I supposed to do with it?
[[You've kind of become her unofficial guide, Lightning; don't worry, she'll introduce herself eventually.]]
[Which kind of sucks considering how low a level they start at, but...eh. What can ya do...besides get people to read the guidebook, anyway.]
There's a book in the bag that you were given. It can explain this stuff better than I can.
[[Well, that appears to have captured her interest. Page immediately starts rifling through her bag until she comes across the item Lightning mentioned, pulling it free and staring at it in wonder.]]
I didn't even realise it was in there. Thank you.
[[She sounds very sincere! Books are a bit of a weak point; the harsh tone from earlier is almost completely absent now.]]
.....I'm Page, by the way.
Lightning. [a short, semi-awkward pause where "nice to meet you" normally goes but she's never the type to say it, soooo:] There's other things you can use in that bag. You might want to go through it before you get moving.
I'll keep that in mind.
[[....wow, a...pleasant conversation with another woman, this is actually quite a rarity for her. Pleasant conversations tend to be, really.]]
...you've been here a while, then?
Page gets a nod, and Lightning shifts her bangs from her eyes. ...fal'Cie she needs a haircut.]
Almost two years. Seen enough happen in that time to know how things work around here.
[[Despite herself, Page feels her stomach drop. That's....that's far too long.]]
Do you ever...wonder about what's going on back at home?
Sometimes. But there's no use wondering. We have no way to return whenever we want, so wondering just makes thing worse for us here.
[[....it's rather depressing for her, to say in the least. However, she manages to get her emotions under control very quickly.
Page tends to bottle things up, so this isn't anything out of the ordinary.]]
...I suppose you're right.
[[That bitter tone is seeping back into her voice, but she controls it. Barely. The book helps.]]
I appreciate the information.
Don't let it get to you. People from the same world have shown up and gone back before, and no one in their world even noticed they were gone. It was like they never left in the first place.
[Her friends would have noticed if she disappeared for two years. She knows that much.]
That's...really good to hear. I suppose the best way to cope with this place is to adopt a positive mindset about it.
[[It's just another challenge. She's faced worst in the past.
....at least, she thinks.]]
Something like that. You're going to have enough to deal with while you're here. Adding to it by wondering what's going on back in your world is just asking for trouble.
[Well. Provided she doesn't piss anyone off, she should be okay. Should is the operative word, though.]
[[Oh there's a few people she's hoping to piss off, but they're the enemy anyway, so!
...with any luck she won't piss off anyone unintentionally....]]
[Less general that that, Page isn't getting. Now now, anyway. Maybe in the future. Maybe.
If she pisses off the right people, anyway. Those certain folk who need to be pissed off.]
.....so these.....'Pokemon' are our new weapons?
[[...let her just give her 7-foot tall beast a once-over, there.]]
Are they all this big, or am I just lucky?
[[For....once in her life....]]
[Which does depend on location more than luck so perhaps she did finally get a lucky start.]
